While the late Queen Elizabeth II’s platinum jubilee last year featured a message from Paddington Bear, King Charles III is set to hear from Winnie-the-Pooh as well as the new Time Lord Ncuti Gatwa, who will perform excerpts from a William Shakespeare play as part of a collaboration between the Royal Shakespeare Company and other arts bodies. The evening will also feature a series of pre-recorded sketches. Classical acts, including Andrea Bocelli and the Chinese pianist Lang Lang, will also perform, with Tom Cruise, Joan Collins, and Tom Jones set to make video appearances. Around 20,000 members of the public secured tickets for the concert, which will be hosted by actor Hugh Bonneville, best known for his leading roles in Downton Abbey and Paddington, and will feature performances by the British pop band Take That, Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Nicole Scherzinger. The concert will be held in the grounds of Windsor Castle this evening from 8 pm BST (12 pm PT/3 pm ET).
